Communal clash erupts in Puri village, several hurt |
An old altercation on a petty issue between people of two villages of Delanga area in Puri district escalated into a communal battle on Wednesday, prompting the police to fire teargas on mob and clamp prohibitory orders. Over a dozen persons from both villages were injured as they hurled bombs on each other, resorted to blank firing, vandalized shops and torched some vehicles. One person reportedly suffered bullet injury. |
