| India is planning to send doctors to Pakistan for prisoner repatriation. India and Pakistan are currently discussing a proposal by the former to allow a team of over 20 doctors to visit Pakistan to examine Indian prisoners awaiting repatriation. The aim is for the doctors to examine the prisoners who are said to be mentally unsound, elderly prisoners, and women and children who are prisoners. Both countries are in touch over the issue of visas for the doctors but diplomatic sources in New Delhi said Pakistan may not give visa to so many doctors and medical experts. |
The government has decided to allow foreign tourists to acquire inner-line and protected area permits for five years. Earlier, tourists were allowed permits for just two years. Arunachal Pradesh is likely to be the first beneficiary of the more relaxed norms, with Sikkim and Ladakh in Jammu & Kashmir likely to be progressively opened up. The Union ministry of tourism is looking to increase tourist inflow to Arunachal’s Tawang valley, Ziro and Bomdila, among the most picturesque parts of the state.

| The Aadhaar data leak via two public-sector firms was fixed only a month after it was drawn attention to, said experts. The issue was claimed to be fixed after UIDAI put out a statement on Saturday in response to business technology news website ZDNet’s Friday report highlighting vulnerabilities in the state-owned utility’s application. ZDNet’s security editor Zack Whittaker published screenshots of leaked data retrieved from one of the two companies on Sunday, showing that they were also leaking customer data of another public sector enterprise. |
