| Enforcement Directorate has registered a money laundering case against Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family. Prasad’s wife and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi Yadav and others will be probed by the agency under charges filed in the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR). Earlier this month, the CBI had registered a criminal FIR, which alleged that Prasad, as railway minister during the UPA tenure, handed over the maintenance of two IRCTC hotels to a company after receiving a bribe. |

Kumar swore in with BJP’s support, after he broke ranks with Lalu Yadav’s RJD party and the Congress. Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was also sworn in as the deputy chief minister. |
| Sushma Swaraj today said in Rajya Sabha that India has raised Tibet, stapled visa issues with China. Responding to issue of stapled visa to Arunachal Pradesh residents by China, she said “the issue has been raised in every bilateral meeting at various levels”. On the issue of Tibet, the minister said, “We are not sitting as a mute spectator. Whenever there are differences, we raise them.” |

| Pervez Musharraf said that he mulled using nuclear weapons against India in 2002, according to a media report. Pakistan’s former military dictator said that he decided against a nuclear strike out of fear of retaliation, amid tensions following the 2001 Parliament terror attack, the Japanese daily ‘Mainichi Shimbun’ said. Musharraf also said that neither India nor Pakistan had nuclear warheads on their missiles in ‘launch ready’ positions at that time, the paper reported. |

Admiral Scott Swift was responding to a hypothetical question at an Australian National University security conference following a major joint US-Australian military exercise off the Australian coast. “Every member of the US military has sworn an oath to defend the constitution of the US against all enemies foreign and domestic and to obey the officers and the President,” Swift said. |
