At least six people are dead and 16 others were injured after a four-storey residential building collapsed in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar. Fire brigade and National Disaster Response Force personnel are at the spot to rescue the people who are trapped under the two wings of the Saidarshan building, which collapsed at LBS Road in Ghatkopar. Maharashtra chief minister has ordered the municipal commissioner to probe the building collapse and submit report in 15 days.

Ram Nath Kovind today sworn in as the fourteenth President of India. Kovind, the second dalit to hold the Presidential post, was sworn in by JS Khehar, Chief Justice of India, in a ceremony that took place in the Parliament. “I am accepting this position with all humility and I am grateful for this responsibility,” Kovind said in a speech after being sworn in.
China claimed today that India “admitted” to entering into the Chinese territory in the Doklam area. China’s foreign minister Wang Yi said India should “conscientiously withdraw” its troops from the Dokalam area in the Sikkim sector, to find a solution to the standoff. “The rights and wrongs are very clear and even senior Indian officials have openly stated that Chinese troops did not enter into the Indian territory,” Wang said yesterday in Bangkok.
