RJD chief Lalu Prasad said his younger son Tejashwi Yadav will not resign and claimed that the state’s ruling grand alliance is intact. “Tejashwi will not resign. FIR is not a sufficient reason for him to step down as the deputy chief minister of Bihar,” Lalu said on Friday night. He said that the RJD was going by the decision of its legislature party, which met earlier this week and decided that Tejashwi Yadav would not resign. “BJP wants that the grand alliance government to fall somwehow. But we will not allow that to happen.” he stressed.

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court asked the central bureau of investigation to probe fake encounter killings in Manipur. The apex court ordered CBI director Alok Verma to nominate a group of five officers to make up a special investigation team (SIT) which would go through records of all these cases, lodge fresh FIRs, complete the investigation by this December 31 and file chargesheets. It sought a compliance report from the CBI by the second week of next January.
Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The encounter broke out early morning in the Satora area of Tral. A family was brutally assaulted and robbed by a mob in Shikohabad-Kasganj passenger train in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. Out of the 10, four family members suffered hand fractures, four had head injuries and almost all had internal stomach injuries.A video of the incident obtain by TOI showed that, 35-30 men with iron rods and stick continued to bang at the Shikohabad-Kasganj passenger coach in which the family was travelling.They stone pelted the coach to break the windows and later jumped inside the train from emergency window by breaking the glass panel.
