Chinese foreign ministry said China, too, changed from what it was in 1962 during the Indo-China war. The comment came as a reaction to the verbal duel and border face-off going on simultaneously. Defence minister Arun Jaitley had said the situation in 1962 was different and India of 2017 is different. “He is right in saying that India in 2017 is different from 1962. Just like India, China is also different,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said.

| Israel’s foreign ministry spokesperson Mark Sofer hailed PM Modi’s Israel visit, which will start from tomorrow. “There is a huge symbolic significance of the visit by the Indian Prime Minister. The historic first visit by PM Narendra Modi to Israel is going to be very successful,” he said. PM Modi’s visit comes 25 years after the two countries established full diplomatic ties.

| The GST may help India save up to Rs 2300 crore in transportation, which it lost annually due to truck delays at state check posts. “Truck delays at checkpoints have been estimated to cost the economy anywhere between Rs 9 billion and Rs 23 billion (Rs 900 crore- Rs 2300 crore) a year in lost truck operating hours,” according to a 2005 World Bank report.
