Indian Space Research Organisation launched PSLV-C38 with Cartosat-2s satellite and 30 nano satellites. It was PSLV’s the 40th flight. Around 16 minutes after lift-off, the rocket placed its main payload -Cartosat-2 Series Satellite– in orbit. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre director K Sivan said it was not an ordinary mission. PS4 (fourth stage) would travel 10 more orbits after ejecting all the satellites.

A bipartisan bill seeking to revoke Pakistan’s status as major non-NATO ally to the US was introduced in the House of Representatives. The status was granted to Pakistan in 2004 by the then president, George Bush, in an effort to get the country to help the US fight al-Qaida and the Taliban. “Pakistan must be held accountable for the American blood on its hands,” said Republican Congressman Ted Poe, who introduced the bill along with Democratic lawmaker Rick Nolan.
Four Arab states asked Qatar to shut down Al Jazeera to end the ongoing Gulf crisis.
