Intelligence agencies found that ISI handlers are using shrine donations to fund terrorist activities. The Rajasthan Police have unearthed the nexus while interrogating ISI spy Deena Khan, who was arrested last week from a remote village in Barmer district. He was in-charge of a small Mazar in Chohtan village and distributed Rs 3.5 lakh of Mazar’s donation to other spies. Intelligence agencies are now keeping a close tab over the sudden spike in makeshift places of worship in border villages. |

The six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) tasked with setting RBI’s interest rates unanimously declined an invite for a meeting with finance ministry officials ahead of the policy. “The meeting did not take place. All the MPC members declined the request of the finance ministry for that meeting,” RBI Governor Urjit Patel said. In an unusual step, chief economic adviser Arvind Subramanian issued a written statement backing a rate cut. |
US President Donald Trump called Qatar’s emir and offered US help as efforts grew to resolve a damaging feud between the emirate and its Gulf neighbours. Trump’s call to Qatari ruler Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, a key US ally, came as a senior Emirati official told AFP that Gulf Arab states were not seeking regime change in Doha. “The president offered to help the parties resolve their differences, including through a meeting at the White House if necessary,” Trump’s office said after the call. |
