| The HRD ministry instructed the CBSE again to release Class XII results ‘on time’. The ministry and CBSE officials had a second round of meeting with the legal counsel yesterday, where a view emerged that moving the Supreme Court may be counter-productive and also delay results if the court refuses to intervene. The board had earlier decided to move the Supreme Court against Delhi HC’s order asking it not to do away with moderation of marks. Meanwhile, uncertainty continues on the date of the results as CBSE remained mum on the matter. |

| The Election Commission turned down AAP’s demand for allowing changes in EVM motherboard. “Allowing any change of the motherboard or any internal circuit of the EVM is like saying that anyone should be permitted to manufacture a new machine and introduce newly made EVMs, which is implausible and irrational,” the EC said in a letter. | A man was hacked to death in Andhra Pradesh while bystanders filmed the killing on phones. The incident occurred on a busy thoroughfare in Kadapa district’s Proddatur town in broad daylight but nobody came forward to help. Police suspect an illicit relationship may have led to the gruesome murder. After the attack, the assailants walked away and only then people approached the body and called the police. Within a few minutes, the incident went viral on social media, triggering public outrage against the police. |
