| At least 21 pilgrims are feared dead after a bus carrying them plunged into a gorge in Uttarakhand yesterday. The bus returning from Gangotri was on its way to Chinyalisaur when it fell into a 250m deep gorge. “The bus was carrying 28 Char Dham pilgrims, all of whom were from Indore. Seven of the pilgrims have been rescued. But the remaining 21 are feared dead,” said an official. |

Air India is to get a brand new Boeing 777-300 extended range (ER) in January, February and March next year. | The violence between Dalits and Thakurs in UP escalated yesterday after a Dalit man was waylaid by a mob and shot dead. Following the attack, dozens of houses belonging to Thakurs were allegedly burnt by members of the recently formed Dalit outfit, Bhim Army. Dozens were admitted in the district hospital, around which Dalits have formed a cordon. |
| British actor Roger Moore, known for his portrayal of James Bond, passed away yesterday after a brief battle with cancer. He was 89. Moore was the oldest Bond ever hired for films in the canon, taking on the role when he was 46. Moore also had the longest run in the role, beginning in 1973 with “Live and Let Die” and winding up in 1985 with “A View to a Kill.” |
